Letter to the Editor

Downtown Poplar Bluff Inc. would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to those involved in making our Dog Park grand opening event a great success. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful crowd!

The dog park is open year-round, from dawn to dusk, and is open to all, not just residents of Poplar Bluff. All visitors to the dog park are expected to abide by the rules established and posted at the park. With the help of the community and park users we hope to keep this park clean and well-maintained. We appreciate the conscientiousness of the park visitors to help keep it litter-free.

Without our sponsors support and donations this park would not be possible. We would like to extend a thank you to those sponsors: Hillcrest Animal Hospital, Mid-Continent Steel & Wire, Purina, Ozark Federal Credit Union, the family of Richard Renfrow, Wal-Mart Supercenter, Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, Wash Park- Dog Wash, Semo Dog Trainers, US Bank, Minit Print, Southeast Signs & Graphics and Whitworth’s Giftchest Jewelers.

A special thank you to the following: Poplar Bluff Parks & Recreation, Poplar Bluff Street Department, Municipal Utilities Water and Electric Departments, and Fickert Fencing.

We would also like to extend a thank you to everyone who purchased a dog park t-shirt. 100% of that donation was used for the park as well.

Downtown Poplar Bluff is always looking for committee members as well as those wanting to be involved in the community. If you are interested in serving in some capacity, please email jfox@pbcity.org or contact Jerrica Fox at 573-712-2171.

Thank you to all who participated whether by giving time, money, input or your attendance.
